In the beginning, we would join together around the campfire to share stories, ideas, and to relay history and legend. As such, culture was born. We needed ways to preserve our histories, grow our imaginations, fuel change and advancement. Our innate need to communicate inspired song and music. Then written word and language. From the word sprang theater and dance, physical means of conveying a message. Then came the performance hall and concert hall to reach larger audiences. The previous century saw the dawn of cinema. In our modern era we have found ways to spread our ideas and stories to everyone by means of technology.
The CD has brought music to the masses. Music has become more pervasive in our lives thanks to the PC and downloading, and truly portable because of astounding advancements in data storage. And most recently, music has reached its zenith with the life-like reproduction afforded by high-resolution audio formats.
The DVD ensured that anyone could have access to libraries of movies, for entertainment purposes, as well to preserve the most important aspects of our story-telling history through film.
And now, we are ready to fully enter the complete digital world with the launch of Digital Television, a home viewing experience whose images and sound rival real life, creating an unprecedented home entertainment experience.
